Negotiations with major league clubs are expected to begin early next month.

KBO officially requested a post about Lee Jeong-hoo from the American professional baseball and MLB secretariat.

On the 22nd, it has been two days since Kiwoom Club received Lee Jeong-hoo’s posting request and related documents.

The posting request is a request to notify the 30 MLB clubs of Lee Jeong-hoo’s intention to advance to the United States, meaning that Lee Jeong-hoo’s challenge to the Major League has now begun in earnest.

[Lee Kyung-ho / KBO Public Relations Team Leader: We officially requested Lee Jeong-hoo’s posting. In the future, the 30 major league clubs will be able to negotiate recruitment with the Kiwoom Heroes if they are willing to sign a contract within 30 days.]

Looking at historical cases, there are more cases where hitters have failed.

In 2014 and 2015, Nexen’s Kang Jung-ho and Park Byeong-ho succeeded in advancing to the major leagues, but

Son Ah-seop, Hwang Jae-gyun, Kim Jae-hwan, and Na Seong-beom had no bidding teams or failed to negotiate.

Ha-seong Kim is the only one who has successfully signed a contract in the past five years.

However, Lee Jeong-hoo’s atmosphere is quite different.

The San Francisco Giants showed so much interest that they sent their general manager to Seoul to watch Lee Jung-hoo’s batting, and the

New York Yankees were also known to be more active than any other team in recruiting Lee Jung-hoo.

There was even a local report that 20 of the 30 major league clubs were eyeing Lee Jeong-hoo.

In a phone call with YTN, a Kiwoom official also said that there were more inquiries from scouts of each major league team than Kim Ha-seong, and expressed expectations about concluding a high-value contract.

Considering the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, Lee Jeong-hoo is expected to sit down at the negotiation table starting early next month.
