Park Hye-jin returns to women’s basketball, Woori Bank wins opening four in a row over Samsung Life

Park Hye-jin returned from injury to lead the Asan Woori Bank women’s professional basketball team to its fourth straight win to open the season, defeating Samsung Life in Yongin.

Woori won the away game of the Woori WON 2023-2024 Women’s Professional Basketball League regular season 73-55 at Yongin Gymnasium on Nov. 18.

Leader Woori Bank has won four straight games to open the season.

Woori Bank, which has been on a winning streak despite a series of injuries to key players early in the season, welcomed back Park Hye-jin, who had been sidelined with a plantar injury.

Wearing an unconventional sports cut, Park finished her comeback with four points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals in 27 minutes and 21 seconds.

“I cut my hair, saying, ‘Let’s do it with a new heart and a new will,'” Park told the broadcasters after the game. I wanted to play basketball,” she said.

Kim Dan-bi led Woori Bank to victory with a “double-double” performance, scoring a game-high 21 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. She also dished out seven assists.

With its two-game winning streak snapped, Samsung Life dropped from a tie for second place with Cheongju KB (3-1) to sole possession of third place (3-2).

Samsung Life’s Bae Hye-yoon reached 5,000 career points. She is the 15th player in program history to reach the milestone.

While Samsung Life’s shots were missing the rim early in the second quarter, Woori Bank responded with back-to-back three-pointers from Park Ji-hyun and Go Ara to take a 15-point lead, 37-22.

In the third quarter, Samsung Sinsung fought back to pull within nine points in the final minute, but Woori Bank closed the quarter with back-to-back three-pointers from Choi Yi-sam and Lee Myung-kwan to make it a double-digit game again, 58-45.

The tide of the game did not change in the fourth quarter as both teams’ players showed signs of fatigue. 토토
