Next manager of the England national soccer team?…

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe, who has been touted as the favorite to take over the vacant England national soccer team managerial position, has announced that he will remain at the club.

“As long as I feel happy and supported, I’m committed to Newcastle,” Howe said in an interview with the BBC on Tuesday.

“I love the supporters, the players and the staff,” Howe said, adding, ”I don’t have any other thoughts in my head. I’m only focused on Newcastle,” Howe said.

With Gareth Southgate announcing his intention to step down after England’s runner-up finish at Euro 2024, Howe has been touted as the favorite to take over.

Earlier, Newcastle chief executive Darren Iles warned that the club would “fight tooth and nail” if the English Football Association (FA) tried to appoint Howe as the national team’s manager, emphasizing that the club had already signed a multi-year extension with Howe.

Howe also dismissed the “next manager” speculation, saying he chose Newcastle over the national team.

“Newcastle is an unbelievable club,” Howe said, ”and I’m proud and honored to be their manager. I’m proud and honored to be their manager,” he said, adding, ”It’s only right that I start the season as Newcastle’s manager.”

“I want to coach at Newcastle for a ‘long, long time’, my commitment is unchanged,” he added, ”I imagine every day bringing a trophy to Newcastle.
I want to bring joy to the supporters.”

Howe took charge of Newcastle in November 2021 and led the Magpies to a fourth-place finish in the English Premier League (EPL) in the 2022-2023 season and qualified for the UEFA Champions League (UCL).

If the FA fails to appoint a replacement quickly, the national team will have to play the UEFA Nations League in September under an interim manager. 토토사이트
