The 79th National Volleyball Championship, organized by the Korea Volleyball Association (President Oh Hannam) and sponsored by the city of Jecheon, will be held in Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, from April 29 to May 4 for six days.

The tournament has the longest history and tradition in Korea, having been held every year since its inaugural edition in Seoul in 1946, except for 1950 when the Korean War 스포츠토토사이트 broke out.

It is the largest volleyball tournament in Korea with participation from all categories, and plays a leading role in the development of Korean volleyball by producing excellent players and leaders.

The tournament will feature 41 teams in the U12, 31 teams in the U15, 30 teams in the U18, 6 teams in the U15, and 2 teams in the U18, with a total of 110 teams participating. The winner of the Under-18 category will be awarded the right to participate in the 32nd Korea-China-Japan Junior Games, which will be held in Gumi, Gyeongbuk, from August 25-31 for seven days.

In particular, to create a safe playing field environment for youth players, Donghwa Sports, which specializes in manufacturing sports equipment, will donate volleyball facility equipment (nets, support poles) worth 20 million won, and Korean Air’s Jeong Ji-seok has pledged to provide 20 million won in scholarships for three consecutive years to youth volleyball dreamers.

The tournament will be broadcast live on the AI SPORTS TV app for all matches, a collaboration between the Korea Volleyball Association and WASTE, which operates an AI automatic sports broadcasting platform.

Meanwhile, the Korea Volleyball Association is working with the organizers, the Jecheon City Sports Council and the Jecheon Volleyball Association, to ensure the tournament is a success in the dynamic and new economic city of Jecheon.
