Gimhae, a city in South Gyeongsang Province, is inviting non-Korean travelers to its upcoming one-month tour program in the city.
The tour program was launched in 2020 as part of the city government’s efforts to boost tourism in the city.
Gimhae is known for Geumgwan Gaya, a city-state of the Gaya confederacy during Korea’s Three Kingdoms period, and its 추천 first King, Suro. The city-state is believed to have been located in the city and the surrounding region.
The city said it will select 10 groups of non-Korean travelers in its upcoming round of the program this fall.
Participants have the freedom to create their own itineraries during their stays of up to 30 days, and the city will partially reimburse their travel expenses once they post travel photos and essays on their social media.
The program was initially designed to draw domestic tourists but grew bigger as it attracted interest from foreign tourists with two foreigner nationals having the chance to participate in the program.
