Klinsmann talks to fans about his last open training of the year

The Klinsmannhoe Taegeuk Warriors, fresh off their victory in the second round of Asian qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup North America, braved the cold winds of early winter to hold their final open training session of the year, where they mingled with 300 fans.

At Mokdongju Stadium in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, soccer fans dressed in thick winter gear lined up in front of the entrance on the afternoon of the 18th.

The 300 fans who won the contest were lucky enough to see the Taegeuk Warriors in action as they trained for their second Asian qualifying match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup North America on June 21 against China.

Fans cheered as the team entered the training ground, holding signs with their favorite players’ supportive phrases.

The Taegeuk Warriors smiled and waved to the fans as they saw the funny phrases such as “Lee Kang-in, cute!”, “Heung-min, stay healthy!”, and “Son Heung-min, goal in my heart!”.

Klinsmann’s team, which is scheduled to face China on Sept. 21 in the second Asian qualifier for the 2026 FIFA World Cup North America, revealed its training process to fans before departing for China on the morning of Sept. 19.

It was also the last open training session for the national team as there will be no more A matches in Korea this year.

The players lined up in front of the fans before the start of training, with head coach Jürgen Klinsmann himself taking the microphone and shouting “Hello!” in Korean.

‘Captain’ Son Heung-min (Tottenham) then took over the microphone and said, “Thank you for coming out in the cold. We’ll show you a fun training session,” and the fans responded with a round of applause.

As the training began in earnest, the fans held their cell phone cameras high and tried to capture the players’ every move.

The 23 Klinsmannhoe Taeguk Warriors warmed up with light running and gymnastics before splitting into two groups for tactical drills to strengthen their organization.

Twelve players, including Son Heung-min, Kim Seung-kyu (Al-Shabaab), Hwang Eui-jo (Norwich City), Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton), Seol Young-woo, Jeong Seung-hyun (Ulsan), Lee Ki-je (Suwon), Hwang In-beom (Zvezda), Kim Min-jae (Munich), Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain), Lee Jae-sung (Mainz), and Cho Kyu-sung (Mitwillan), who saw a lot of playing time against Singapore on Saturday, finished early.

The rest of the players focused on improving their physical condition with the coaching staff and completed an open training session with fans. 먹튀검증
